Taiwan LED industry advocates LED lighting to replace nuclear power
Taiwan LED industry advocates the full use of COB LED flood light and other industrial and commercial LED lighting to replace nuclear power , Bureau of Energy said that the lighting in Taiwan accounts for 10.9 percent of Taiwan's total electricity consumption , if the whole of energy saving bulbs, incandescent and halogen lamps used by Taiwan's industrial and service sectors are replaced with COB LED flood light and other commercial and industrial LED lamps, estimated annual saving is 1.228 billion degrees which is 3% of generating capacity of three nuclear power plants.
In short , electricity savings of COB LED flood light and other commercial power and industrial LED lighting can not replace three nuclear power plants.
Energy Board noted that there is about 26.7 billion Lighting degrees consumed in Taiwan last year, accounting for 10.9% of the total electricity in Taiwan , where the lighting for industry and services accounted for 6%, general household lighting and outdoor lighting accounted for 40% and more for the off-peak electricity. Energy Board believes that the promotion of industrial and service sectors lighting replaced with COB LED flood light and other commercial LED lamps so that receive double effect on saving and reduce peak load .
Lighting currently on the market includes fluorescent tubes , energy saving bulbs, incandescent , halogen lamps, mercury lamps , metal halide lamps , high pressure sodium lamps and LED lamps and other categories, Energy Bureau, considering the level of luminous efficiency , economy and security, replacing the energy saving bulbs， incandescent and halogen lamps with COB LED flood light and other exterior and household LED lamps are more feasible.
By Energy Agency estimate , when the electricity for lighting industry and services is more during peak periods ( daily from 10:00 to 15:00 ) , if the energy saving bulbs, incandescent and halogen lamps used by whole of Taiwan's industrial and service sectors are comprehensively replaced with COB LED flood light and other outdoor and indoor LED lamps , estimated annual saving is 1.228 billion degrees, accounting for 3% of 41.6 billion degrees of the total generating of three nuclear power plants.
