What started with a simple X-Ray at the urgent care clinic to determine the source of pain and shortness of breath would lead to the biggest shock of Justin's life: A tumor measuring almost 20cm was found in his left lung. From that point forward, the Evans family's lives changed forever.

In the days and weeks following Evans' diagnosis, the whole family had to cope with the stress, frustration and mystery that come with a cancer diagnosis. "My Cancer Chronicles" details these difficult days through diagnosis, chemotherapy and recovery and takes the reader inside Justin Evans' head as he coped with this traumatic life event.

"When I started feeling better I decided to write a series of books to shed light on questions about cancer," Evans said of the first book in his series."Telling my story will hopefully help others and their loved ones through similar struggles. I want to help people understand cancer from the inside and lead the fight to end it on the outside."

Not one to be defeated by cancer, Evans, along with his family, started the website "Families Fighting Cancer" to allow families to share their cancer survival stories in an online community. Families Fighting Cancer is a cancer support group that hopes to eventually become an authority in cancer resources, support and financial assistance.

"The intent of my cause will be to teach others how to tell their story on the internet to help raise money for their cause or make an income during their treatment," Evans said.
